Larch Forest Plantings
The Japanese Larch forest starter contains between three and eleven trees. They are cut to size, loosely shaped, and between 20cm and 80cm in height. Sometimes, you may find 8 or 10 trees; this is due to either a dead tree or overplanting in case of a dead tree. If we planted the forest as a nine-tree forest and one dies, it is sold as a seven-tree forest; thus, you will find an extra.
As a bonus, we often stick a cutting in some moss in the corner of the pot when we prune, and they do have a 50% success rate. So, if you find a smaller cutting-sized tree growing in the corner, you have a cutting that may/may not root.
